KiKi Lin의 회화는 그 조용한 충만함에서 출발해, 개인의 기억과 관계속 감정을 하나의 장면으로응축해낸다.

작가는 전통 동양 채색화, 니혼가 기법을 기반으로 작업한다. 천연 광물 안료와 금박, 수제 종이를 사용해 재료를 직접 준비하고 화면위에 층층이 쌓아 올리는 과정은 시간과 감각이 응집되는 방식이다. 그 결과 화면은 은은하게 빛을 머금고, 전통의 물성과 현대적 이미지가긴장감 있게공존하는 깊이있는 표면을 형성한다.

이 반짝이는 바탕 위에 놓인 딸기는 작가의 가장 내밀한 이야기에서 비롯된다. 가족이라는 관계 속에서 마주하는 사랑과 안정, 그리고 동시에 존재하는 긴장과 책임감. KiKi Lin은 그 복합적인 감정을 회피하지 않고, 반복되는 점의 축적을 통해 화면 위에 차분히 기록한다. 점들은 노동의 흔적이자 감정의 단위로서, 흐트러진 감각을 정돈하고균형을 만들어내는 리듬이 된다.

KiKi Lin의 회화에서 딸기는 단순한 대상이 아니라, 나눔과 풍요, 그리고 관계 속에서 형성되는 보이지 않는 감정의 밀도를 상징한다. 빽빽하게 쌓인 점과 금박의 결은 설명할 수 없는 관계의 흐름을 드러내며, 익숙한 장면을 낯설고도깊이 있게 환기시킨다.

KiKi Lin’s paintings begin from a quiet sense of fullness, condensing personal memories and the emotions embeddedin relationships into a single scene.

The artist works based on the traditional Eastern painting technique of nihonga. Using natural mineral pigments, gold leaf, and handmade paper, the process of preparing materials by hand and building them up layer by layer on the surface becomes a way in which time and sensation accumulate. As a result, the surface softly holds light, forming a depth where the materiality of tradition and contemporary imagery coexistin subtle tension.

Set upon this luminous ground, the strawberries originate from the artist’s most intimate narratives. Within the structure of family, where love and stability coexist with tension and responsibility, KiKi Lin does not evade these layered emotions. Instead, she records them through the accumulation of repeated dots. These dots function as traces of labor and units of emotion, creating a rhythm that organizes scatteredsensations andrestores balance.

In KiKi Lin’s paintings, strawberries are not merely objects, but symbols of sharing, abundance,
and the invisible density of emotions formed within relationships. The densely layered dots and
the texture of gold leaf reveal the unexplainable flow of relationships, transforming familiar
scenes into something both unfamiliar anddeeply resonant.

Like strawberries placed under sunlight, some days are complete withoutreason.
